How we calculate this
- Planning meals takes 15 to 30 min a week: Plassiette does it for you.
- Shopping and the trip to the store take 65 to 130 min: with a list sorted by aisle and a single trip, we estimate you save 30%.
- Americans waste about $728 of food per person each year, around $14.00 a week (EPA, 2025), and around 5.6 lb of food (USDA). A French government study of 243 households measured 59% less waste once they planned their meals and shopped with a list: to stay cautious, we use 50%, for 4 people.
- A cheap single-serve frozen dinner costs about $3.00, versus $2.58 on average for a serving cooked with our recipes. 60% of American adults eat a frozen meal at least once a week (CivicScience, 2023): we count 1 meal replaced per person per week.
- These are averages: your actual savings depend on your habits.
“It's really great: we save a huge amount on groceries, and we save so much time.”

You might be wondering…
Do I need an account?
No. You plan your week without signing up. Your meal plan is saved on your device.
How are the meal plans built?
From our recipe collection, with simple nutrition rules: fish twice a week (including one oily fish), beans or lentils at least twice a week, and limited red and processed meat. The most perishable foods go early in the week, and what’s left from one meal goes into the next.
How is the budget calculated?
Each ingredient has an average supermarket price (official U.S. averages from the Bureau of Labor Statistics when available), adjusted for the price level of the store you pick. It’s an estimate within ±10%, before sales: exact prices vary from store to store. If you set a maximum budget, Plassiette picks recipes that fit it, without breaking the balance of your meals.
What if I eat gluten-free?
Check “Gluten-free”: Plassiette swaps products that contain gluten (pasta, bread, soy sauce, tortillas…) for gluten-free versions and skips recipes that can’t be adapted. If you have celiac disease, always check labels: we can’t guarantee there are no traces.
What if I don’t like a meal?
With full access, you can swap any meal or regenerate the whole week in one tap, without breaking the balance.
How much does it cost?
Planning your week is free, and you see all your lunches. Dinners, the full grocery list, step-by-step recipes and meal swaps come with full access: $9.99 a month, cancel anytime, or $69 once, for life.
What about my data?
We don’t ask for your name, your email or any health data. Payments are handled by Stripe: we never see your card.
